Heidi Paetkau (she/her) supports people in getting to know themselves—and the children in their lives—with more understanding and compassion, so they can navigate life with greater ease.
Through her writing, workshops, and practical resources, Heidi creates neurodiversity-affirming spaces that support people in building emotional agility, rediscovering joy, and cultivating a sense of felt safety.
Her work is grounded, practical, and deeply compassionate.
As the owner and occupational therapist at Blooming Abilities, Heidi’s work is rooted in over twenty years of professional practice, alongside her own lived experience.
She is a single, divorced mom of two neurodiverse teenagers, and strives to meet people where they are—reminding them they are not alone. She loves gardening, stand-up paddleboarding, and nature’s quiet wisdom, finding meaning in both adventure and stillness, in play and in rest.
Heidi brings her full, multifaceted self to all that she does, because she believes we bloom most fully when we embrace our wholeness. She is a compassionate seeker and creator, drawn to the complexity and beauty of being human.
Welcome here.

I look forward to growing with you.
