Heidi Garcia (she/her) is the owner and Occupational Therapist at Blooming Abilities.
She has dedicated her career to working with children, families and school teams. Heidi is passionate, energetic, understanding and supportive in her work with families.
She strives to understand what is working well for each child, as well as their challenges to enable them to develop and improve new skills, increase confidence and complete daily activities with greater ease.
She is committed to working together with you to help children & families reach their fullest potential.
Heidi is extremely active in the Occupational Therapy community. She is a strong advocate and leader in her work as the Executive Director for the Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists. She has also contributed to the Occupational Therapy community as a sessional instructor in the Occupational Therapy Department at the University of Manitoba, guest lecturer on pediatrics for rehabilitation assistants at the Manitoba Institute for Trades & Technology (MITT), and providing supervision, mentorship and support to many occupational therapists working in various school divisions around Manitoba.
Heidi earned her Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) from the University of Manitoba and a Bachelor of Kinesiology (BKin) from McMaster University.
Heidi is registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba (COTM) - you can confirm her registration HERE, and is a member of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) and the Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists (MSOT).
